Was wondering where you've been! Eaten any wild horse meat lately? -grin-
I got a subscription to Forbes through a free samples site and enjoy reading it, even though I can't afford a single thing in any of the ads or write-ups.
I've got a friend who, with his dad, have a small cow/calf operation near Laketon and I've taken some photos out there, a couple that look really similar to your right-hand column photos. My pal's pop has an old retired horse named "Smokey" that looks a lot like the one you've got, plus a lot of their cows are blonde/reddish colored.
Anyway, welcome back. Glad I've got you subscribed in my reader, or I'd have given up on you!
I have been so fed up with what's going on in Washington since the last Presidential election that I haven't felt like posting anything here. Originally, I intended this to be my "political" blog. I fear that my posts would be so negative that it would hurt my attitude in general, so I've chosen to focus (for the most part) on more positive things over on my Panhandle Poetry blog.
I recently have had the opportunity to do some Sales/Business Consulting on the side and I decided that this might be a good place to link things that are of interest to that endeavor.
I can't believe someone is actually subscribed to this thing!
I can't remember how I found you; maybe it was one of my searches for fellow Panhandle bloggers. I subscribed because after a quick look around at your political posts, decided we were of a similar conservative mind.
Oh, I believe we would have disagreements - one being the Huckster - plus I'm of the "despise ALL pols" bent and we'd probably disagree about ag subsidies (i'm a "small L" libertarian) but a fellow can't help but be conservative if he's born and/or bred here.
Anyway, sounds interesting what you're doing. Good luck w/ that.
I still chuckle about the outrage on the BLM wild horse thread. I could see their points, but in the end I still believe in culling the herd when necessary.
On Huckabee -- I'm not a fan. However, he has some good things to offer and "probably" would have been better than what we have. I fear he would have been about on the caliber of Jimmy Carter.
On ag subsidies -- completely opposed on principle. However, as a policy tool for affecting food pricing and availability -- they are useful. I strongly believe that food production is a national security issue. We also have a lot of energy subsidies for similar reasons.
